An undercover cop in a class by himself...

John Kimble (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a tough, drug-bustin' cop. A tough cop who has been on the trail of drug dealer Cullen Crisp (Henry Tison) for years. After a homicide, Kimble finally tracks Crisp down, but it seems the only person that can testify against him is his ex-wife (Penelope Ann Miller). The only problem with that is that she has disappeared, and all Kimble knows is the name of the school in Oregon that her son attends. When things don't quite go to plan, Kimble finds he has to go undercover on his toughest assignment yet - Kindergarten teacher!

As soon as Arnold Schwarzenegger made a splash into the film industry, every action film wanted him. Sylvestor Stallone and Bruce Willis both became famous along with Arnold, but I will always consider Arnold the best. Not only does he have a very good attitude (from what I've seen), but also a warm heart. Not expected after seeing him bring down one hundred + bad guys in "Commando" or being a "cybernetic organism" in the "Terminator" movies... So it's always a bit sad when Arnold makes a flop, especially a good flop like "The 6th Day." Well, I'm here to review another Arnold flop, "Kindergarten Cop," which was in itself a bit underrated...

Also, there are some really nice one liners in this one (it's the pah-ty pooper!).

Basically, Ivan "Stripes" Reitman's film fails to achieve major laughs. Arnold makes a good effort, but the film doesn't seem to know who to target to: kids, or adults. Perhaps that is why the film got tagged with an unfortunate PG-13 rating. Regardless, parents just didn't know whether to take their kids to see the film or not...

Besides this big rating mess, the film is decent. It does deliver laughs on most occasions, even if some are a bit forced. Arnold is believable as a cop, as well as a kindergarten teacher. He has kids of his own, so he has some helpful "experience" before making this film.

Bottom line, you may be a bit disappointed in the film. The plot does drag along at a miserable pace, and never picks up to the pace of most Arnie vehicles. However, I still had fun watching "Kindergarten Cop." Just use parental guidance when viewing the movie with children.
